I tried 2 different high powered laptops plugged directly into the modem and both showed the same results in terms of download/upload speeds/ping. Haven't had engineers out yet but that will be the next step if the new modem doesn't solve the problem. I switched from Sky BB to VM to avoid problems with things like line attenuation etc as I thought you can't go wrong with a fibre optic broadband connection. Seems I may have been wrong!
