Every technician visit has been within a couple of days and we do not get preferential treatment being staff we join the queue.

I did try SKY while still a Cable customer and had 3 replacement boxes in 4 moths and each engineer visit was at least a week away, we got out of the contract due to them not being able to provide a service.

After 12 months with SKY you either pay around £10 per month to get a tech for free and replacement equipment or try spitting your dummy out and demand a replacement which takes time.

I prefer the easy route were I can pick up a phone and all faults are sorted for free.

Plus I get this below and do not want the 1.5Mb promised by all the ADSL providers in my area imagine getting less than a 20th of the speed below.

Conversely, in the 3,4 or 5 years (it's a longuish time) that I have enjoyed Sky TV my Thompson Sky+ Box has never put a foot wrong. I consider I have had my money's worth out of it by now and would not object to shelling out for a new one should the need arise.

During the preceding years when I struggled to watch Cable TV I was provided (free of additional chrges) with numerous Boxes of different types from varying manufacturers of which none worked properly. I can't say for certain but I have a suspician that none of them were new.

I know which side my bread's is buttered on.
