Virgin seem to be more conservative with the money they have and hold out for a deal or until a point where customers are leaving where they'll pay the norm (I don't mean Sky Atlantic where Sky are obviously asking a high carriage fee to pay for the heavy investment they've put in).

If something then happens which prevents the channel launching, it'd be good if Virgin would then release another announcement explaining the delay.
Maybe Virgin don't want to take this approach with their announcements, and I don't want to speak on behalf of anyone, however I'm sure most customers would appreciate this approach more than "Coming Soon".

They don't give timescales because the number of unknowns is countless. If there were delays you'd be annoyed that they delayed it so by not announcing anything specific until
the day before they don't fallback on their promises.
