I've just heard a Norwegian media guy being interviewed on BBC radio and he was saying that if found guilty, the guy in question would face a
maximum term of 21 years in prison. In Norway, apparently, that's as harsh as the penal code gets! If this is indeed the case, given the scale of this slaughter and the horror that it's evoked, it'll be interesting to see if the Norwegians will decide that their penal code needs to be revised to take account of a world in which terrorist acts and mass murder seem to be becoming more common.

Yes, that's now looking more likely to be what's behind this. I find it ironic in the extreme that religious ideologies supposedly developed and practised to spread good can be twisted by some to justify evil.
