These sites are expecting to see a UK based IP, and possibly in the case of VM player a VM IP. Hiding the place you are connecting from is not the issue.

The only way I can see you getting round this is to do some sort of VPN into a UK server and then connect via that VPN back out to the net. If you could VPN to your home broadband, so much the better - perhaps your router might support such a function?
