Sorry to butt in on this thread.

I have Virgin broadband with a Scientific Atlanta modem supplied by Virgin about 3 years ago. I have an old Belkin F5D7231-4 router which has been working great until recently. The modem & router is connected to an old PC which has recently been revamped and now operates on Win 7, I have a new laptop (Medion Akoya) and my OH has a very old laptop running on XP. We mainly play Zynga poker on an evening after work.

I changed settings on router about 6 months ago and am on channel 11, and had no problems until recently. We play for about an hour then the laptops start to slow and finally freeze up. If we switch off the router and modem and restart them everything works fine.

Thinking perhaps I should get a new router I started searching (Google) for best one to buy and found this thread.
