Mind saying that before I would buy, I would ask around forums like this, read all the bumph provided and written about it before shelling out £150 for it.
So far nothing I've seen or heard would make me go for a Tivo.I too would rather view YouTube on my PC. .I've already got hundreds of channels of dross to watch without adding that to the list.

Lukily in my town we have a VM store but having said that is i was shelling out £150 i would also travel to have a look but to be fair some stores would be more of a pain to get to then others as you pointed out.
Forums such as this though are great in helping to make a decision wether a product such as TiVo is for you, personally i do not record hours and hours of tv as i am divorced and live on my own, if i had a young family maybe that would be different.
I would agree with you though i have lots of channels of dross that seems to keep repeating itself

without the need to record hours and hours more, also for films and DVDS i like i buy them cheaply enough from amazon,as i prefer to own copies.I too am very happy to watch you tube and others on my pc,i do not do twitter or facebook so apps for those would be wasted,myV+ performs all the functions i need on a pvr.But i am going to take another look in the future once TiVo has ben around a little while.
