Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

This is sad, but..

After several years of trying, they finally moved my work email account to exchange. I resisted because, frankly, Outlook on the PC is a bloated pile of crap, and Entourage on OSX (which I have to use), is worse. So, I resisted.

Now, however, they have moved me over and I am loving it. Mac Mail handles Exchange pretty well (certainally better than Entourage), and I have a couple of bonuses.

1) Server side mail filtering. I get emails from a lot of mailing lists (as part of my job), so I have quite a few filters to sort those into different folders. With server side filtering, I set the filters up once rather than on every client.

2) If I need to set an out-of-office message, I can do so using a wizard rather than a fiddly sequence of commands, or asking a colleague.

3) The best one: The Exchange server is not accessible outside the Uni, so even if I wanted to, I can't use my mail client at home to check my work mail. I can use webmail, but prefer not to.
