Speed Issue Help!
Hi there,
I have 50meg broadband at home and never had this problem before.
I got a new pc in April - Dell XPS7100 Win 7 with wireless N card and everything was fine and my broadband speeds were straightaway continuing as normal 300mpbs etc
Then 2 weeks ago all of a sudden the connection has dropped to 54mbps and has stayed that way since.
I spoke to Virgin after being really annoyed by this and they advised that there were some utilization works being done and said they would be fixed in future etc however it wasn't clear if they had been the cause of the speed drop as they are so hard to get anything english & understandable from them.
I however since then kept having issues with connecting and loading pages - I spoke to some people who said what Virgin were doing was not the cause of the problem and they suggested I update my network drivers which I have done however, this has made no difference in that my speed is still stuck at 54mbps instead of my usual high speeds.
I am a bit lost what to do now, as I am sure my Network card is fine and windows 7 check and Dells own on board check say all working ok.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why suddenly the speed has dropped so much and possibly things to check to help sort out?
