A PVR is something that everyone is already trained on and only requires one engineer to fit and install.

A television rental service would require everyone to be trained on them and it would require 2 man crews to fit and support them due to the size of the units.

This would mean more technicians employed and trained for a service would likely be very expensive and liable to fail for those reasons alone.

So no real comparison can be made to the existing services.
