To use a similar analogy to your hanging analogy would you argue for the rights of women not to be stoned to death or circumcised or would you just say "Ah well"?
What makes you think that people like him want or need human contact at even the most basic level and that depriving them of any such contact would be considered by him as some sort of "punishment"?
