So not that important.

Its not my opinion (I don't watch cooking, music or news channels but they're green) the reason Crime&Inves is orange is its half owned by Sky so they'll have some say in HD being on Virgin but not a stranglehold on the channel.

I excluded kids because I was tired but I knew someone would complain so;

Disney Cinemagic HD (Has some relation with Sky Movies)
Disney Junior+ (Formally Playhouse Disney+)
Disney XD HD
Kix!
Nickelodeon HD [1/2 Sky]
Nicktoons Replay (+1) [1/2 Sky]
POP (Recently removed)
Pop Girl
Pop Girl +1
Tiny Pop+1

My point personified, poor HD channel and a waste of budget that could be used on more popular channels who show much more exclusive, live, self produced or first run programming instead of repeats after repeats mixed with with one or two shows a week that are popular (not to me to viewing figures); see ITV 2 HD and ITV 4 HD.
Agree with you those channels are mainly available in SD , but I'd imagine that most people with 40" HDTVs or bigger would sooner see them in HD although I do see your point.
