Unhappy Ghost recordings- Advice needed

Hi Guys , A little bit of technical advice needed. I am having problems with my HD+ boxes. I get 'ghost' recordings appearing at all times of the day and night , basically deleted series recordings return repeatedly after being deleted . When the ghost reappears it disrupts genuine recordings and they either do not play or just fail. Simple reboots do not fix the problem.

I know I can contact Tech support and they will advise the usual solution that I have resorted to many times , ie a full software reinstall or on one occasion to replace the box completely but I was hoping to get some information that might help me break the cycle.

Firstly is there anything that I can do to get rid of the bogus recording that does not involve a full reinstall , losing all recordings etc ? and secondly is there anything I can do to prevent this irritating problem , some way to make sure 'ghost' recordings do not happen ?
