it's last years model but is now £699 for 46" and it's not led but that doesn't really matter. The pq on it is amazing. Also as freeview hd and Samsung smart tv features. Retails for double that on some stores still. Active glasses still are expensive but the passive sets are also really costly as they are newer so I think the costs would be about the same.

So I welcome the 3D content starting to appear.

It may do eventually but even HD uptake is still not exactly main stream yet. It's taken large screen TVs a w years to drop in price and it will be the same for 3D. Content will come as more stuff is shot in 3D.
The vast majority of the public will as you say take years to adapt to new stuff.
