Sky seem to be slowly positioning Sky 1 as a more mainstream British channel now so I suppose you could be right. Perhaps we will see a lot of content moved over to Atlantic.
News Corp's purchase of Shine will certainly be useful for British productions.

Shine produced a fair bit for the BBC I think , Spooks being one of them.
