UPDATE:
after suffering a deteriorating service since the last engineers visit we had another engineer out today (Tony - nice chap
) and he installed a Samsung. Without doing anything to the cabling our SNR went from 24.6 to 41.3, the picture is dead smooth, the channel hopping much much quicker - all in all a great little box
Only problem, its silver, so doesn't match the vcr and dvd
