I guess what the OP and subsequent Ps are saying is that maybe we'd have been better off getting some other channel if the content on Sky Arts SD & HD is going to be so poor. However, a bit of patience might be in order as something worth watching is bound to turn up eventually, isn't it?
It's not as though the conspiracy theorists can say that Sky have put all the good arts programming on a channel that VM customers don't have access to (like the Sky Sports 1/2, 3/4 debate), is it?
I must say though, between Sky 1, 2, Pick TV and the Living suite, there's not a great selection of new (non-repeat) programming on the VM supplied Sky channels. We like Bones, we watch Hawaii Five-0, although it's awful, but most of the other programmes that we used to watch on Sky/Living (e.g. CSI) are very old repeats of repeats of repeats.

VM is simply a platform, it has no authority over the programming on Sky channels. If it was picture/sound quality or technical issue then it would be VM. Speaking to Sky direct would be best if you are unhappy with their programming.
