it seem quite obvious 'clear' will delete things and the guide book also explains it. V+ had similar shortcuts that were not prompted on screen.
I think you will really start to see the benefits the more you play with the Tivo but if not and you are happier with the VCR like approach of V+ then you should certainly cancel your contract.
