Poverty and scratchcards.
Sitting outside a shop on the phone before I went in.
A woman and her son and daughter come out (about 11 and 13) the mum gives them both a scratchcard each, and then all of them move over and start scratching them off.
they both watch mum doing hers.
mum goes back in and gets some more. daughter looks over at me and turns around and pretends to be tucking her top in and pulls her trousers down showing her whole bum. looks around back at me and just smiles.
mum comes back out and all do it again. still not won anything. they all walk past the front of my car to go, and then the mum looks at me (they all did) and says I'm gonna get some more.
the boy turns around to his sister and says if he gets £10 he's gonna get 10 of em.
mum pops her head back out the shop and calls the daughter to ask her if she's got 55p.
I really felt sorry for them spending all that money on the cards, when they look like they haven't got any.
maybe they've won before and they're addicts now?
