There's no doubt that TiVo has a whole load of extra features over V+ HD. But there's also no doubt that there's a few features which were in V+ HD which a) people used and b) aren't in TiVo.
True progress is
adding to the
existing feature set.
Not taking them away. The reminders thread (and the about-turn VM/TiVo have done on that) is indication of existing functionality which customers used on V+ HD, and still want to use on TiVo.
Ditto numerous picture quality threads on this and other forums. It should be:
TiVo SD Picture Quality >= V HD+
and not:
TiVo SD Picture Quality <= V HD+
How is that progress regarding picture quality for SD, eh!?
