Hi

I think it may because the CT8685 is set up as a satellite - I entered my TiVo as 'VirginMedia Tivo' not Cisco CT8685 and the software searched for 'device like' and came up with a V+ (so most of the buttons were OK)

I then went into the settings and changed it from a standard PVR to a TiVo and learned the extra remote buttons.

I could then use this device in a 'watch TV with TiVo' activity..

All seems to work well (but it would be better if it knew the CT8685 was a TiVo to start with!)
