A priest / vicar etc I would have thought would do a rehersal the day before. A registrar will most likely just turn up and do the ceremony.

As for where you do it - who cares what anyone else thinks? - If that's what you want then you rock on.

I got married in a registry office last time and am doing the whole church thing this time.
