I've no idea what the installer was on about. See section 33 of the user guide for instructions.

VM have already done a deal for Sky OD, and it'll be along shortly. Meanwhile set up a WishList and you might catch the lost epoisodes.

This seems very variable between boxes, remotes and/or rooms. It's a problem for a few people, but for most it's fine. Another of those little mysteries.
Just one thought though, for people who have remote problems. Is there still a protective film on the front of the box?
