Not quite true, he was walking along with team mates either side, these two man camera operators actually run onto the pitch and shove the camera in the players faces, they are hoping that like Gerrard earlier in the season and Noble in this game that the player may kiss the lens to give them a good picture, Rooney was speaking directly to the camera men, he was in front of Man Utd supporters so he wasn't having a go at the crowd.
