Yes, but remember the billing account also goes onto a Credit File for proof of payment.
So to change your name you have to prove to Virgin that it is actually your legal name so they send the details to the right file.
The name on My VM is more so that the site says 'Hi <name>' correctly - especially when it comes to the additional accounts which won't have any entry on the billing account
