VM could be proactive and help broadcasters launch new channels but it appears they are not in the business of operating channels in the long term, personally I actually think that is wise.
But I don't think it much matters if there were 100 HD channels around, it's whether VM can afford to carry them and their inflexible pricing structure seems to suggest they cant.
Lets be dead clear, whilst they have 29 HD channels in total 12 attract a fee and 5 are non subscription channels. They only carry 12 inclusive pay channels in XL which is great but I just don't see that massively increasing anytime soon if they stick to their pricing model.
