I must admit to failing to see where the struggle is for anyone beyond those who believe that everyone should be equal regardless of ability or productivity which obviously totally removes any incentive to work at all let alone excel. The state should supply a safety net, it is absolutely not its job to equalise everyone. If our state taxes me much more they can kiss goodbye to 100% of my income to tax, those are the joys of the international, mobile economy and why all states can't simply ramp taxes up the backside.
