Erm, no, the exact opposite is true. We had just forced a corner and got an equaliser out of it, we were on our way through to the next round. RVP was sent off because he shot at goal when he was one on one with the keeper - it was offside of course but we were creating. That period was the only time we really looked like we could actually get a result.

Arsenal were merely 1 goal away from going through, yet having a player sent off (a striker no less) didn't have any bearing? What rubbish. They were a whisker away; just because Barcelona dominated play doesn't mean they walked it as the Barca/Inter 2nd leg last season exemplifies.

It's funny. Had Bendtner managed to score from his chance (by the way, just imagine RVP on the end of that instead) then Wenger would be hailed a hero and tactical genius, as Mourinho was last season. Arsenal were a miss control away from the next round and avoiding the wrath of hypocritical media and fans.

Why didn't Wenger just play defensively? That's why they lost!
