I like a good Rioja like Marques de Caceres or Marques de Riscal but my fave is a good SA wine like Kanonkop Pinotage or Kanonkop Paul Sauer.

Riscal is nice, but overpriced. Extremadura, which borders on Rioja produces some fine wines that can't be called Rioja. We've had a couple of them through Laithwaites. The Gran Reservas are some of the best I've had and can't be beaten on price.
