All this help has been great so far.
I have an ACER laptop. It has an Intel 5100 Wireless Adapter and a Broadcom Wired Adapter.

Out of the box BOTH adapters were ENABLED. Wireless performance and Network throughput was woefully compromised until I discovered and sorted this by disabling the Broadcom adapter. Network throughput was further enhanced by putting Both PC's link speed/duplex settings onto auto-discover
