I'm guessing this is down to the TV itself. I have a Sony Bravia which does an excellant job of upscalling on it's own. I don't have TIVO but I'm guessing the people not having issues have higher end tv's. I'm probably way off base with that though .

That would imply to me that the TIVO upscaling is inferior to the V+ upscaling at the moment.
