So if he had posted how much he loved it that would have been OK? He has one, has (I assume) paid for it and gave his opinion.
If you want a Tivo then that's great for you and that's your prerogative but it's his prerogative to not want a TiVo (or at least be underwhelmed by the experience to date). Please stop insinuating he is idiots for not wanting it.
