Re: Cameron and Clegg worse than Thatcher.

Cutting the public sector is to get it to the stage where taxing a mere 40% of the entire country's income will be sufficient to pay the bills. There are no prospects at all of any significant tax cuts.

What's wrong with tax cuts anyway? Lowering tax rates can increase state income as well as decrease it? Are you saying that the income tax cut for the less well off, a totally politically motivated cut, is wrong because it denies the state their money?

How dare the fittest work and get money and potentially get rich from doing so. Perhaps we should all be mindless, unexceptional bricks in the wall paying huge swathes of our income to the state to redistribute as it sees fit. What a punishment for excelling and bettering oneself.

Well no, we're paying the pensions of all those public sector workers on tasty final salary schemes that won't see light of day again, and the public pensions of those who were promised the state would look after them while it spent their pension contributions on whatever was politically expedient.

We should not expect a penny from the government towards our retirement, the baby boomers have spent it all.
