OK well I seem to be up and running. Did as advised and it all went very simply. This PC is connected by ethernet so I won't be testing the wi-fi side for now but hopefully it's there and will work when we need it.

ps. Can anyone tell me how my wife can log onto the network via her LG GT540 Optimus phone as that's probably the only wireless device we'll want to use in the near future.
