55% is a bit poor, Ive got a PS3 upstairs (hub downstairs) and get a good signal (95%) but its still not as good as my wired console downstairs.

I think you need to go down the wired route (via powerline adapters) but having never used them I cant recommend any unfortunately.

I suppose drilling a couple of holes and running the ethernet cable on the exterior of your property is out of the question.
