The only reason I ever looked at Virgin Media is because TiVo and XXL broadband. Were it not for those, I would never have considered (in the same way as I never considered Sky): the STBs they offer are dinosaurs, with appalling user experience and features. As I stated in another post in this very thread, I've had a Freeview STB for 4 years that puts all of them to shame (and still might the TiVo one, but by a smaller margin).
I work in the field of Digital Media and Online Video and therefore have known about the TiVo (as a concept) for years. When I did hear VM was going to adopt it, that (and BB XXL) tipped the balance in favour of getting an overpriced contract with VM (even though the customer service is know to be bad, compared with my existing broadband supplier).
I did enquire about how to get it for months. I pre-registered my interest as soon as the form appeared. About the same time, I registered with this forum in order to follow the trends. You yourself did reply to some questions I had a few weeks back. I followed your advice and did order a bundle with XL TV in readiness, knowing that XL customers who pre-registered would get it before others, and that it would be a quicker way to getting it. As soon as I got the account details, I refilled the pre-reg form with that information, in order to boost my chances.
So, there you go: I am a customer and I was when they called me. Yes, a new(er) customer, but a customer nevertheless, with an account ID. The fact that until this morning I hadn't got the service installed is completely irrelevant.
You can be annoyed all you want about VM's policy (or lack thereof, as if it was surprising with a large company), but don't take it on me. I have worked the system to my advantage (by design, but most likely by luck), and I feel the pain of those still waiting, but don't take it on me. I was looking forward to being part of the VM online community, but am starting to regret it.
And no, I still can't prove it. How could I possible prove it until it's installed?

As I said, I didn't want to offend you.
My sincere apologies
And thanks for updating.
