what is lacking is a definate 'what is happening now' as VM promised to look after existing customers first and yet they apparently have no real pattern to how they are doing that. Whether you accept someone with an instal date for existing packages but not yet actually installed as being an existing customer is debatable and only VM can answer to that one

existing customers (especially those on this forum) know the product is available but only to those chosen so far and cannot be ordered otherwise , but those that have had no contact are getting frustrated and restless that there appears to be no set pattern of the way peeps are contacted (VM probably know what the pattern is they just havent told anyone) and the only line we get from yourself (not a personal go at you) is that the product isnt launched yet ... bang wall head against springs to mind ..

ok thats my opinion and i know lots will disagree which i can accept ... and right now ... i dont want tivo , i wont pay for tivo , but i would appreciate VM at least considering me valued enough to call and ask me
All I have been trying to say is that is it is a pre launch VM don't really have to tell you exactly whats going on.

Imagine for a moment that it was 15 yrs ago and the internet and social media still didn't really exist. If VM was launching a new service they would do their pre launch installs and activities and it would go by pretty much unnoticed until the full release when advertising would start.

I think they must have been hoping the same would happen now, however with people posting in forums stating they are getting it for this price and installed on this date, other people are then wanting the same and feeling annoyed when they don't get offered it.

For example when the Nintendo DS got released originally, I was contacted by Nintendo and offered a pre release DS 1 month before its actual release. I think there were only a few hundred people that were offered this. Am sure if they tried it now lots of people on forums would claim that its unfair and want to know why they weren't offered the same deal.

Companies always do pre release offers and special deals to get some of their products out and in the wild before release so people can talk about it and get it spread by word of mouth.

That is what VM is doing with TiVo. So don't get upset if you don't get a call or don't get TiVo straight away. They will call you and get you TiVo as soon as they can.
