It is very funny and/or weird! Most of those there are actually understandable, Spurs need a top class striker and decent defenders wouldn't go amiss. What is odd is the shotgun approach they took, someone on Twitter likened it to Spurs chasing every striker in Spain to the theme of Benny Hill. Aguero and especially Forlan would have been great buys for Spurs. Perfect Buys.

You wonder why they leave transfers so late? I am guessing Brinkmanship on the part of Levy to bring prices down but the figures quoted suggest desperation more than anything. Also you have to consider, as we now see with Carroll, it actually drives the cost up as teams need to be compensated for the loss of a player so soon to the deadline. Bids that might otherwise be accepted will be rejected due to the selling club being unable to replace the player in the time remaining.

Whilst it may be a cliché to suggest Harry Redknapp is obsessed with buying players it has to be said the bid for Charlie Adam was beyond reason. It suggests that, having seen all the deadline deals fall though (Forlan, Aguero, and Phil Neville), they decided they had to buy someone, anyone, and went for yet another midfielder they don't need. I was watching Sky Sports and he had phoned up the presenters to tell them the deal had fallen though. What manager does that? It's Bizarre and I wonder what they hoped to achieve...
