I got a 900watt psu has a million cables with it and not the 4 pin adaptor which I just assumed when I bought it that it would come with one as I was under the assumption all boards use them as well as the main power lead.
It boots up ok but the monitor wont come on, 6 pin adaptors connected to GFX card ok, so I dragged over my old psu with 12v 4 pin adaptor and it booted up ok with that. only I need this psu as its powering 7 fans and a huge case I just bought.
If I pop down to my local maplins and pick up an 4 pin adaptor would that work ok? or would I need to send the psu back Ebuyer and get one with a 4 pin 12v attached to it?

Do you have a modern motherboard, Most new boards take a 24 pin (EATXPWR) power cable with a 12v 8 pin (EATX12V) cable.
