When all tuners are being used on a Sky+ box it doesn't matter how dynamic the EPG is, you will find the following recording will be cancelled, it happened all the time when I had Sky. I do agree though that the live recording buffer implies that the EPG is not going to be as dynamic as people here are wanting though.

I for one think your both spot on. Also as you point out it does say "TiVo connects every few hours to update".
