Well, after having quite a scare with him over the weekend, our youngest is going into respite tonight and our eldest is staying over at nanna's so we're going to have 2 whole nights on our own. Despite our initial concerns about it, there's no guilt to worry about either now because he loves his time at the respite centre and always gets very excited when we tell him he'll be going there because he's
'been such a good boy...'
Without wishing to bring any negative thoughts into a happy place, it does make us realise how important the overstretched respite service is, how lucky we are to get what time we're allocated and how much more difficult life must be for those who have no such help.
