As someone else mentioned when pretty much all my recordings happen in the 9pm-10pm slot on multiple channels, mostly sky1, bbc1, 5, syfy, fx, you quite often get lots of clashes in that time slot.

Also don't forget the power of the extra tuner with respect to program overlap, that extra 5 mins at the end often needs the extra tuner, and you will lose the end off alot of programs without it.

eg you watch a program at 9pm-10pm, record a program at the same time, then record a program on a different channel at 10pm-11pm.

With 3 tuners this is no problem at all as 1 tuner records the 9-10, while the other records the 10-11 channel both with overlaps, all while you watch you're program. With just 2 tuners, you may miss the end off the 9-10pm program as the tuner switches to record the 10-11pm channel. Or as with sky you get the epg flash up giving you warnings etc which nobody wants to see on VM.
