I listened to that game on the radio ( nearly said wireless ) it was a blatant foul and no mistake.

TBH all of the players of that generation respected the spirit of the game, even though he had fouled the keeper there was hardly any protest from the United players, they just got on with the game. Today the blood vessels would have been bursting all over the pitch.

I did have the pleasure of seeing Nat Lofthouse play several times in my youth, he was a big, hard bruiser on the pitch but a really quiet man off it.
