Video Editing Software

Does anyone know of some good video editing software for creating and editing videos recorded of games.

Basically I record some games from playing games but I want to be able to edit them, and save them so that they are smaller than 20gb for 10 minutes of footage I have been using windows movie maker but that doesn't allow for editing really and also, all videos are saved in WMV format.

Not only that but I would like a multi threaded program that is going to take advantage of my overclocked quad core which gives me 8 threads in windows, as windows movie maker only uses the 8 threads but only uses my whole cpu up to a maximum of 40% to convert, a video from 20gb to around 1gb ready for upload on to youtube.

Basically I would like a program:

That is multi threaded.

That is easy'ish to use.

Can shrink a video from 20gb to about 400 to 500mb but retain atleast 90% of the quality of the initial file if possible.

Will allow the output file to be saved in different formats so I can choose which is best.

I have got Adobe Premier Elements 9 with the added content but it really is a poor piece of software, as even a video with some section's cut out to use as a seperate clip the quality drop's and look's like it has been recorded on a old mobile phone.

I have windows movie maker which gives really good quality but uses about 1gb now for 10 mins of footage where as the older version only used 500mb, but it doesn't allow for much editing other than adding text and a intro slide.

I have also tried a thing included with Nero 7 but that was worse than both windows movie maker and Adobe.

I have heard about I think it is called sony vegas but not sure about it.

All recomendations are welcome price not a issue for now as I will try before I buy as most have a trial version available.
