Great result for Arsenal, 3 - 0 at St Andrews. Usually a horrible place for Arsenal to go too and they played a physical game, and lofted balls into the box but Arsenal dealt well with both approaches. Considering this is only the second time they have lost a home game since September 09 I am happy .
I don't think today's result changes anything in terms of Hodgson's position, he's as good as gone, it's just a matter of when the board feel that they're in a position to appoint a long-term replacement to introduce some stability. This half-way point in the season is as good a time as any to do so but that's purely dependent on the right candidate being available. As for the match: despite the result the overall performance still left a lot to be desired. The lack of confidence was still glaringly apparent but at least there was some intelligent movement off the ball to create space and Bolton eventually tired after their initial spell of pressing play. Bolton are ultimately a poor side and some would say they got what was coming to them. Credit to Owen Coyle though for achieving what he has done up to now with the limited resources available to him, he's surely a young manager some of the bigger clubs will be keeping an eye on.
