the 6 years start from the date a default or none payment is issued and placed on the credit report

However if the payment passes like mine did to a different company a new report will be made. Also if anything does end up with a debt collection agency make sure they have proof they have rights to chase the debt

I had a HFC debt which they reported but the debt collection agency ( zinc recoveries in the end) never put their own in and I only paid some of it.
