Do you mean the sort of "Police Aware" stickers that most police cars and vans carry around in case they have to put them on other cars that have been abandoned, and that the police have been informed/are aware of?
(btw, loved the emotive "rusty old bus" repetition - if you say it often enough, some people might believe it  ).
