AFAIK DD-WRT doesn't support any cable modems, so if DD-WRT can go on it, you'd lose that part of the unit.

OpenWRT only supports a handful of ADSL modems, (And I don't know how well they work). AFAIK, it doesn't support any cable modem hardware.

If it can't be used as a modem, or worse can only in the way the the BT business hub does, then I wont be using one.
