I downloaded the BookmarksChecker and then the link checker and it worked but I do have Nightly Tester Tools in my browser which should not work with the latest version of Firefox but because it was already installed it works.
I also have Xmarks installed which allows all my bookmarks to be saved in the cloud and i can then download them onto any computer which is handy if you have a specific tool in your bookmarks that you need to use at another address.
