Re: Logitech Harmony
I have recently bought a Harmony One and I am very impressed as it worked with all my kit.
In terms of pros (and they are often very simple)
1. Lights up when I pick it up.
2. Supports time sllip on my DVD/HDD recorder to skip adverts.
3. Is incredibly light in the hand.
4. Can learn from other remotes.
5. Supports commands that operate differently when the keys are held down.
Cons (and they are minor)
1. Cannot use alias keys from other devices (unless anyone wants to tell me otherwise).
2. Is quite expensive (although it is a gadget).
3. Activities can be awkward especially when a device only supports power toggle as opposed to seperarate on/off commands.
I am a past user of a Phillips Pronto U980 that I use as a mega database of all remotes I have ever used and used it to program the odd key to the Harmony.
I loved the Pronto's ability to allow programming of any touch key to do anything.
I believe this is a back end software issue and await its implementation on the Harmony One.
Otherwise a damn fine product.
